Role overview

Scalapay is hiring two Full-Stack Software Engineers to join its Experiences and B2B Platform teams. This is an opportunity to work with an international fintech company that prioritizes an AI-first engineering approach, taking features from concept through to production while working on payment and buy-now-pay-later solutions for European merchants.

Key responsibilities

Write clear specifications and technical design documents that guide AI coding agents, then direct, review, and test the output they produce.
Design, develop, and maintain high-quality web applications using Node.js, TypeScript, and React.js.
Work with both relational databases like MySQL and non-relational databases such as DynamoDB and Redis to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
Write unit and integration tests using frameworks such as Jest to ensure code quality and robustness.
Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability, and work with CI/CD tools to automate testing, building, and deployment processes.
Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to maintain high standards.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers in an Agile environment to understand requirements and deliver quality software.

Requirements

Minimum five years of professional development experience, ideally within a high-volume financial transactional environment such as payments or e-commerce.
Hands-on experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, and familiarity with a spec-driven approach to development.
Strong proficiency with Node.js, TypeScript, and React.js.
Extensive experience with both relational and non-relational databases.
Proven experience writing unit and integration tests, and working with frameworks like NestJS and Next.js.
Solid experience with Agile methodologies, Git version control, and strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
