Role overview

Join Etihad Airways’ Centre of Excellence in Al Ain as a Data Engineer supporting the development and enhancement of enterprise data solutions. You will transform operational and financial data into actionable business insights while driving automation, artificial intelligence initiatives, and process improvement programs across the airline’s back-office functions.

Key responsibilities

Consolidate and manage enterprise data by developing scalable data models and automated reporting solutions that support operational, financial, and strategic decision-making.
Ensure the integrity, accuracy, security, and availability of business-critical data to enable reliable management reporting, regulatory compliance, and informed organizational decision-making.
Develop and support KPI dashboards, real-time performance monitoring tools, and advanced analytics solutions across back-office operations to enhance operational efficiency and business performance.
Drive process transformation by identifying and implementing automation opportunities through robotic process automation, AI agents, workflow automation, and low-code solutions in partnership with business stakeholders.
Partner with operational teams to identify process inefficiencies, perform root cause analysis, and implement data-driven solutions that deliver productivity gains and cost optimization.
Develop and maintain business intelligence dashboards and reporting solutions that provide actionable insights into operational performance, process efficiency, and workload trends.
Support the development and deployment of AI-driven solutions and knowledge repositories that automate transactional activities and enhance intelligent decision-making across finance and operational functions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
Four to five years of experience in Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Automation, or Digital Transformation.
Proficiency in SQL, database management, Python, and Power Query or related data engineering tools.
Demonstrated experience with Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent visualization platforms, along with understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data warehouse concepts.
Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms such as Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, or Databricks, and familiarity with RPA tools including Power Automate, UiPath, or Automation Anywhere.
Basic understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning, generative AI, and AI agent frameworks.
Experience in airline, aviation, finance operations, or large enterprise environments is preferred, as is certification in Data Analytics, Power BI, Azure Data Engineering, or related disciplines.
