Role overview
This is a 12-week summer internship with Coinbase’s Finance team, where you will support the Business Controller group in managing the company’s finance product launch review program. You’ll work at the intersection of finance operations, cross-functional coordination, and process improvement, helping ensure that product launches are properly evaluated, risks are identified, and financial implications are understood across the organization.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate finance product launch review workstreams across Finance and cross-functional partners, tracking owners, dependencies, risks, decisions, and deadlines to completion.
- Support launch reviews by evaluating requirement documents, determining stakeholder impact, and confirming the validity of test transactions.
- Maintain project plans, action-item trackers, launch dashboards, status updates, and process documentation to ensure clear visibility and adherence to internal control frameworks.
- Facilitate follow-up with stakeholders to resolve open questions, address blockers, and keep launch deliverables on track.
- Identify opportunities to improve the launch review process through data analysis, AI, automation, and standardized workflows.
- Collaborate with teams across Controllership, Tax, Treasury, Risk, Product, Engineering, Compliance, Legal, and Operations to address the financial implications of product releases.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with coursework in US GAAP or financial reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, prioritize competing deadlines, coordinate stakeholders, and drive follow-through on action items.
- Proven ability to bring structure to ambiguous processes and communicate progress clearly through status updates, risk surfacing, and stakeholder alignment.
- Experience synthesizing data from multiple sources and presenting clear, structured findings to non-technical audiences.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools such as LibreChat or Claude, and working knowledge of SQL or analytics platforms including Databricks, Snowflake, or Looker.
- Ability to use generative AI responsibly with appropriate human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and improve workflow efficiency.
