Aldar Education is looking for UAE National Classroom Assistants for the 2026/27 school year. Responsibilities
Main Duties
- Support individual students or small groups, both inside and outside the classroom, so they can take part fully in daily school activities. Also help support their social, emotional, and physical well-being.
- Stay alert and proactive about health and safety matters.
- Help carry out individual education plans for students and help track their progress.
- Support students who need extra help, such as those with emotional or behavioural challenges, and help them build social skills.
- Assist class teachers with keeping student records up to date.
- Prepare and set up displays of students’ work.
- Help teachers with photocopying and other classroom support tasks.
- Support the school’s goals and follow health and safety rules, along with other school policies.
Specific Duties
- Provide academic support to students.
- Give instructions to small groups as directed by the teacher, or provide one-on-one support.
- Demonstrate different learning activities.
- Check and correct students’ work as they complete it.
- Help keep students focused on their tasks.
- Encourage and praise students’ progress, and update the teacher on how they’re doing.
- Tidy and organize materials at the end of the school day.
- Take attendance.
- Supervise students in classrooms and other areas of the school.
- Help build positive behaviour habits and support students’ self-confidence.
- Handle misbehaviour according to the school’s overall policy.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- A secondary school certificate at minimum.
- At least two years of experience working in a school.
- English language skills that meet the school’s curriculum needs.
Minimum Experience:
- Must be a UAE National with at least a secondary school certificate; a Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
Job-Specific Knowledge & Skills:
- Experience working with students who are not native English speakers.
- A genuine passion for teaching and caring about the overall development of each child.
- High professionalism and genuine concern for children’s well-being.
- Recent and steady involvement in extra-curricular activities.
- Respect for everyone in the school community, regardless of their role, gender, age, or background.
- A positive attitude and a solution-focused approach to work.
- A clean background check or police clearance.
