  • Manage and review assigned compliance cases within defined service level agreements, providing guidance to internal teams on escalations, enhanced due diligence reviews, and high-risk or complex matters.
  • Monitor regulatory developments by tracking FINTRAC announcements and legislative changes, then translate this intelligence into actionable updates for the Canada financial crimes compliance program.
  • Coordinate responses to information requests from fiat partners, ensuring timely and accurate extraction of user data and supporting documentation aligned with local regulatory expectations.
  • Lead or support automation initiatives to streamline KYC, enhanced due diligence, and reporting processes by partnering with customer experience, legal, and technology teams to improve data consistency and operational efficiency.
  • Execute risk assessments and compliance reporting for Canada to verify that systems and controls effectively mitigate financial crime risks across the entity.

  • At least five years of financial crimes compliance experience in financial services, with focus on AML/ATF, KYC, and sanctions, preferably in cryptocurrency, fintech, or a FINTRAC-regulated organization.
  • Working knowledge of Canadian financial crimes compliance requirements, including FINTRAC guidelines, the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act, and related reporting obligations.
  • Demonstrated experience managing compliance cases, conducting enhanced due diligence reviews, and producing regulatory filings and compliance reports with accuracy and within defined timelines.
  • In-depth understanding of cryptocurrency transaction flows, transaction monitoring, risk assessments, and the ability to apply AML/ATF frameworks to virtual asset activity.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Ability to use generative AI responsibly while maintaining human oversight to deliver outputs and drive improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
