Role overview

Xero’s Global Strategy & Operations team works at the centre of the company, partnering with senior leaders to shape strategic direction and translate ambitious priorities into executable action. This role sits within that team, focusing on strategy development, operational planning, and high-priority programmes that require strong structure and cross-functional alignment.

Key responsibilities

Contribute to the definition and evolution of Xero’s long-term strategy by evaluating the changing competitive and market landscape.
Structure and solve business problems using rigorous, fact-based quantitative analysis in partnership with internal stakeholders.
Develop market intelligence that identifies emerging trends and anticipates shifts to inform strategic priorities.
Leverage AI tools and capabilities to reimagine workflows and increase the quality, speed and leverage of team output.
Run operating rhythms that translate strategic priorities into action, including annual planning cycles, OKR setting and Board reporting.
Deliver high-priority programmes that demand strong structure, pace and alignment across the organisation.

Requirements

Experience at a top-tier consulting firm is highly preferred, or comparable experience in strategy, operations, transformation or related roles within a global technology or SaaS environment.
Demonstrated ability to transform ambiguous briefs into sharply structured problems, with clear hypotheses and understanding of the data needed to test them.
Strong analytical rigour, with capability to model data, build business cases and independently work through complex information.
Proven skill in synthesising analysis into crisp, well-argued recommendations that include explicit and defensible trade-offs.
Familiarity with building and maintaining processes, governance and operating rhythms that turn priorities into coordinated action.
Ability to build relationships quickly across all organisational levels and drive alignment through structured consultation and consistent follow-through.
Experience using AI tools to reimagine and improve how work is executed as an established part of your approach.
