Role overview

Xero is seeking a Global Strategy Manager to join its Strategy & Operations team in Melbourne or Sydney. This role sits at the centre of translating Xero’s strategic priorities into executable action, working across strategy development, planning, performance management and high-impact programmes. You’ll partner with senior leaders and decision-makers throughout the organisation to shape where Xero competes and how it wins.

Key responsibilities

Contribute to defining and evolving Xero’s long-term strategy by evaluating the changing market landscape and competitive environment.
Structure and solve complex business problems using rigorous, fact-based and quantitative analysis working alongside internal stakeholders.
Develop market intelligence that identifies emerging trends and anticipates shifts to inform strategic decision-making.
Apply AI tools and capabilities to reimagine how work gets done and improve the team’s output in terms of quality, speed and impact.
Run the operating rhythms that translate strategic priorities into coordinated action, including annual planning cycles, OKR setting and Board reporting.
Support the delivery of high-priority programmes by providing strong structure, maintaining pace and ensuring cross-functional alignment.

Requirements

Experience at a top-tier consulting firm is highly preferred, or comparable experience in strategy, operations, transformation or related roles within a global technology or SaaS company.
Strong strategic toolkit with the ability to turn ambiguous briefs into well-structured problems, supported by clear hypotheses and a view on the data needed to test them.
Natural analytical rigour, including the ability to model data, build business cases and independently work through complex information.
Ability to synthesise analysis into crisp, well-argued recommendations with explicit and defensible trade-offs.
Experience building and maintaining processes, governance and operating rhythms that turn priorities into coordinated action.
Strong relationship-building skills across all levels, with the ability to drive alignment through structured consultation and consistent follow-through.
Demonstrated comfort using AI tools to reimagine and improve how work gets done.
