Role overview
Umdasch Group, a 150-year-old family business with over 11,000 employees across 160 locations on five continents, is seeking a Growth Ventures Intern to support strategic initiatives within its innovation and growth hub. This internship offers exposure to corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate venturing, with focus on identifying new technologies and attractive companies for acquisition in construction, retail, and built-environment sectors.
Key responsibilities
- Support outreach initiatives, meeting preparation, and follow-up activities with external partners.
- Conduct structured market and sector research on construction technology, built-environment innovation, and selected growth areas.
- Support startup scouting, target identification, and opportunity mapping activities.
- Prepare presentations, research summaries, and management materials for internal stakeholders.
- Map the external innovation ecosystem, including accelerators, venture funds, brokers, startup platforms, industry networks, and academic institutions.
- Monitor industry developments, market trends, and relevant startup and technology news.
- Support evaluation of potential growth, partnership, investment, and acquisition opportunities.
- Assist in maintaining market intelligence databases and tracking strategic developments across target sectors.
- Contribute to preparation of internal business cases, opportunity assessments, and strategic reviews.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Innovation Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in growth strategy, M&A, venture capital, startups, technology trends, and innovation ecosystems.
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills with ability to synthesize information from multiple sources into concise insights.
- Experience using AI-powered tools for research, documentation, and analysis.
- Structured, proactive mindset with ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Valid UAE drivers license and car ownership required.
- UAE residency visa (student visa or family dependency) required to work in Dubai for minimum six months.
