Role overview

Geotab is a global leader in IoT and connected transportation, processing billions of data points daily to help businesses manage their fleets more effectively. As Head of Tax & Asset Compliance, you will lead a solution domain that transforms telematics data into compliance outcomes for North American fleets, helping customers meet their tax and asset compliance obligations while minimizing fines, violations, and administrative burden.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the tax and asset compliance domain, making build/buy/partner decisions and identifying emerging customer needs to strengthen market differentiation.
  • Drive business outcomes by owning primary KPIs such as submission success rates and violations avoided, while increasing adoption of compliance workflows across the customer base.
  • Define customer experience metrics and measure success for fleet operators, compliance managers, and asset owners, tracking adoption, time-to-value, and net promoter scores.
  • Establish feedback loops with customers, sales, and support teams to identify and resolve product gaps while maintaining UX quality standards across all domain touchpoints.
  • Lead and develop cross-functional teams in product management, design, and engineering, providing mentorship and career development while identifying high-potential leaders.
  • Own the domain investment portfolio through annual planning for budget, headcount, and OKRs, balancing growth initiatives with quality and capability investments.
  • Report on domain outcomes, revenue contributions, and delivery health to executive leadership and the board while supporting company-wide strategic initiatives in AI adoption, security, and accessibility.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in product management, product engineering, or customer-facing product roles.
  • At least 5 years in senior product and people leadership roles with cross-functional scope and direct accountability for customer-facing business outcomes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and execute customer-facing product strategy tied to measurable business outcomes, with strong P&L literacy and revenue attribution skills.
  • Proven cross-functional leadership experience managing teams across product management, product design, and product engineering.
  • Deep customer empathy, high adaptability, and strong stakeholder management and communication capabilities.
  • Expertise in defining, tracking, and optimizing product KPIs with the ability to operate at the intersection of business strategy, customer experience, and technical execution.
