Role overview
As Lead, Learning & Employee Experience at Wealthsimple, you will design and deliver the programs and events that shape how employees experience joining, learning and growing at the company. Wealthsimple is Canada’s leading financial innovator, serving over 4 million Canadians with a suite of financial products including managed investing, trading, cryptocurrency, tax filing and spending tools. You will own onboarding, learning programs and employee events end to end, working closely with the People Operations team in a hands-on, facilitation-focused role.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver comprehensive onboarding programs for new employees, leaders, interns and returning staff, including pre-boarding communications, live sessions and tailored learning paths developed with department leaders.
- Lead live learning and onboarding sessions regularly for groups ranging from ten to over sixty people, delivered both in person and remotely as a core part of your role.
- Plan and produce employee events from concept through delivery, managing experience design, agendas, workback timelines, budgets, vendors, executive briefings and communications for both in-person and remote formats.
- Design and build learning curricula covering leadership foundations, mandatory training and compliance requirements, and oversee their ongoing logistics and delivery within your learning platform.
- Establish measurement and feedback mechanisms to evaluate program effectiveness, align stakeholders across Talent, Communications, IT, Brand and senior leadership, and iterate on programs based on data and insights.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience designing, delivering and running onboarding, learning or employee experience programs with end-to-end ownership rather than executing someone else’s design.
- Demonstrated excellence as a facilitator with a track record of leading live sessions regularly for mixed and senior audiences in both in-person and remote settings, with the ability to adapt in the moment and achieve desired outcomes.
- Hands-on experience planning and producing employee events from concept to delivery, with accountability for experience design, budgets, vendor management, communications and logistics.
- Instructional design and curriculum-building experience, including the ability to translate business needs into effective learning programs and build them in a learning management system yourself.
- A data-driven mindset that incorporates measurement from the start and uses feedback and metrics to drive decisions, with judgment in leveraging AI tools for content design and program operations.
- High agency and comfort with ambiguity, able to identify and close gaps independently while maintaining momentum despite shifting priorities.
