Role overview

Ziina is seeking a Platform Engineer focused on Developer Enablement to join the Engineering team in Dubai. This foundational role offers the opportunity to build internal systems and tools that will shape how the entire engineering organization develops, tests, and delivers software as the company scales. You will directly influence the developer experience and establish the standards for backend quality across all teams.

Key responsibilities

Create internal tools, service templates, and shared libraries that establish standardized approaches for building backend services.
Enhance backend developer workflows by improving local development environments, debugging capabilities, and testing processes to enable rapid iteration.
Design and operate testing frameworks and quality systems integrated with the CI pipeline that provide engineers with reliable feedback on code changes.
Build self-service platforms for common engineering tasks so teams can operate independently without waiting for platform support.
Increase transparency around system quality and confidence in releases across the engineering organization.
Work closely with engineering teams to identify daily friction points and address them through tooling improvements.

Requirements

At least three years of professional experience in Platform Engineering, Backend Engineering, or Developer Experience roles.
Strong backend engineering capabilities, preferably with Typescript and Node.js, plus deep knowledge of microservices and how services communicate with each other.
Hands-on experience building internal tools, shared libraries, or service templates that engineering teams actively depend on.
Demonstrated expertise with testing frameworks, CI system integration, and creating quality metrics that engineers rely on.
A product-oriented mindset applied to internal tools, treating colleagues as users and measuring success through their productivity gains.
Proficiency using current AI tools and technologies to enhance personal productivity.
Based in the UAE or willing to relocate there.
