Role overview

This position involves performing riding engineer duties to maintain aircraft airworthiness and operational reliability at Etihad Airways. You will support Line Maintenance operations across outstations and Abu Dhabi, ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to approved maintenance data while working toward the airline’s Journey 2030 expansion strategy.

Key responsibilities

Execute all riding engineer duties in accordance with approved aircraft maintenance documents, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Ensure full compliance with UAE GCAA regulations and Etihad Technical standards throughout all maintenance activities.
Maintain valid licenses, approvals, and authorizations, notifying Resource Management and LMI Management at least six months before any expiry dates.
Deliver high-quality aircraft maintenance to ensure safe release to service on time and per the approved operating schedule.
Apply technical judgment to resolve defects effectively during line operations and riding duties.
Maintain aircraft exterior and interior cabin standards consistent with Etihad Airways’ brand and customer experience expectations.
Support continuous improvement by reviewing industry occurrences and external best practices, and promoting modern tools and digital systems within Line Maintenance operations.

Requirements

High School Certificate or equivalent; technical or engineering diploma or degree preferred.
Valid Aircraft Maintenance License convertible to GCAA, such as EASA Part-66 or ICAO Type.
Minimum two to three years of certifying experience on at least two Etihad aircraft type ratings at Level 3, including Airbus 320, 350, 380, Boeing 777, or 787, with valid company authorization.
Minimum five years of aircraft maintenance experience, with at least three years in a Line Maintenance environment.
Strong technical knowledge of line maintenance and defect rectification.
Clear communication skills and effective coordination with operational stakeholders.
High attention to detail, regulatory awareness, and ability to operate proactively and independently in an international operational environment.
