Role overview
Analog builds robots, spatial intelligence systems, and AI experiences designed for real-world use. As a Senior Android Developer, you will own the mobile application experience end-to-end, ensuring that apps perform as reliably in the field as they feel in users’ hands. This is a full-time position based in Abu Dhabi within the Engineering department.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Android applications across multiple device types and configurations.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend developers to define features and ship updates to production.
- Identify and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, and responsiveness issues before they affect users.
- Optimize applications for speed and scalability to handle real-world demands.
- Contribute to architectural decisions for new features and services rather than simply executing specifications.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while participating in peer code reviews to elevate team standards.
- Evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies when they genuinely improve the development process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven track record shipping polished, production-ready Android applications on the Google Play Store.
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java.
- Deep knowledge of the Android SDK, Android Studio, and the Android platform ecosystem.
- Experience integrating RESTful APIs and third-party libraries into applications.
- Solid understanding of UI/UX principles and Android design guidelines.
- Proficiency with debugging tools, Git version control, and testing frameworks such as Espresso or JUnit.
- Comfort working in an Agile development environment.
What makes this role worth considering
Analog operates with a flat engineering structure, meaning no approval layers stand between your ideas and shipping them. You will work in person alongside a small, genuinely international team in Abu Dhabi, often within close proximity to robots being actively deployed and tested in the field. Your work will have immediate, measurable impact on real users and real products.
