Role overview

MultiBank Group, a global financial institution established in 2005 and headquartered in Dubai, is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join its AI and Machine Learning team. The role combines machine learning, computer vision, and large language models to deliver production-grade intelligent solutions within a fintech environment. You will lead end-to-end model development and collaborate with cross-functional teams across data engineering, software engineering, and business functions.

Key responsibilities

Design, develop, and evaluate data-driven algorithms using both classical and deep learning approaches for classification, detection, segmentation, regression, and anomaly detection tasks.
Prototype and assess large language model-based and multimodal systems for document understanding, knowledge extraction, information retrieval, and workflow automation, including fine-tuning foundation models and building retrieval-augmented generation pipelines.
Design and implement agentic AI systems including task-oriented agents, workflow orchestrators, tool-using agents, and autonomous reasoning frameworks that translate business workflows into reliable and maintainable AI-driven pipelines.
Own the complete machine learning lifecycle from data collection and preparation through model training, evaluation, deployment, and ongoing production maintenance, establishing best practices in MLOps and reproducibility.
Contribute to solution architecture by collaborating with data engineers, software engineers, and domain experts to integrate AI-enabled products into existing systems.
Establish and maintain robust monitoring frameworks to evaluate AI solution performance after deployment, identify data quality issues and model drift, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Stay current with AI research advances, mentor junior data scientists, and contribute to internal knowledge sharing and the broader AI community of practice.

Requirements

Five to ten years of hands-on experience in classification, detection, and segmentation using both classical and deep learning approaches applied to real-world, production-grade problems.
Proven track record of developing, deploying, and scaling end-to-end machine learning pipelines in industrial or enterprise environments.
Hands-on experience building and deploying large language model applications including models such as GPT, Llama, Falcon, and Claude, with expertise in fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation systems, domain adaptation, and multimodal extensions.
Experience designing and implementing agentic AI systems including task-oriented agents, workflow orchestrators, or autonomous reasoning frameworks.
Strong foundation in applied mathematics, probability, and statistics underlying modern machine learning and deep learning methods.
Advanced Python programming skills with focus on clean, production-ready code, and deep knowledge of machine learning algorithms and deep learning architectures including CNNs, Transformers, Diffusion models, and Graph Neural Networks.
Proficiency in prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, and structured output design for large language model-based systems.
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field; strong candidates with equivalent industry experience will be considered.
Experience in the fintech sector is a strong advantage.
