Role overview
Checkout.com powers digital payments for some of the world’s largest companies, processing over 10 billion transactions yearly. As a Senior Specialist in Technical Account Management, you will serve as the primary technical partner for the company’s most strategic merchants, combining deep technical expertise with business acumen to drive their success on the platform.
Key responsibilities
- Develop expert-level knowledge of assigned merchants’ business models and payment data, identifying opportunities to improve authorization rates and revenue.
- Provide technical guidance on API integrations and infrastructure, acting as the primary point of escalation for complex technical questions and troubleshooting.
- Lead incident response efforts for critical issues, coordinating internal teams to resolve problems quickly and maintain clear communication with merchants.
- Manage technical projects including migrations and new product implementations, ensuring on-time delivery and seamless execution.
- Translate payment performance metrics into business insights during merchant review meetings, communicating technical concepts to executives and stakeholders.
- Advocate for merchant needs and feedback internally, contributing insights that inform product development decisions.
- Deliver training sessions, workshops, and demonstrations to help merchants maximize platform capabilities and adopt new products.
Requirements
- Minimum four years of experience in senior client-facing technical roles such as Technical Account Management, Solutions Consulting, or Sales Engineering, ideally within a SaaS or API-first environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on proficiency with RESTful APIs, including the ability to read documentation, troubleshoot integration issues, and guide developers through workflows.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships and explain complex technical subjects clearly to both C-level executives and engineering teams.
- Strong problem-solving ability and resilience in navigating ambiguity and managing high-pressure technical incidents.
- Understanding of the complete payment lifecycle from authorization through settlement, and knowledge of payment concepts including SCA, Tokenization, MIT/CIT, and authorization rate optimization.
- Experience with the MENA payments ecosystem and local payment methods is preferred; Arabic fluency is advantageous.
