Role overview

Aldar seeks an experienced Senior Vice President to oversee master planning operations across government and internal development projects in Abu Dhabi. This role encompasses managing the complete master planning lifecycle, from initial concept through detailed design phases, while ensuring alignment with company standards and stakeholder requirements.

Key responsibilities

Review and evaluate master plan submissions from internal teams and external consultants to ensure quality and compliance with project requirements.
Manage the selection, performance, and contracts of master planning consultants, overseeing budget adherence, schedule compliance, and quality standards including Estimada and UPC AD 2030 vision alignment.
Coordinate with external stakeholders and government entities to secure necessary approvals and permits during design phases for government projects.
Provide advisory support to Project Management teams during construction stages on master planning matters.
Prepare and process service contracts, requests for proposals, payments, and variations while managing procurement contract changes that affect project policies.
Deliver regular progress updates and monthly written reports documenting construction advancement, critical issues, conflicts, and anticipated challenges to relevant teams.
Identify design deviations and manage adjustments to master plan design, timelines, and costs in collaboration with Development Management and Operations teams.
Recommend value engineering opportunities to reduce costs and timelines, and ensure issuance of all required government permits and construction licenses.

Requirements

Minimum 12 years of experience in real estate architecture or design involving residential, mixed-use, or vertical development projects.
Minimum 4 years in a managerial position with demonstrated leadership and delegation capabilities.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or equivalent qualification required; technical post-graduate degree preferred.
Deep familiarity with the GCC region and adjacent markets preferred.
Exceptional design and master planning capabilities with strong analytical and communication skills.
Proven ability to resolve conflicts, manage priorities, and work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams spanning Business Planning, Design, Project Management, Procurement, and Commercial functions.
