As a Solutions Engineer, you’ll serve as the trusted technical voice in pre-sales, guiding prospects and customers toward clear, feasible solutions aligned with their needs. This role is ideal for GRC professionals, programme managers, auditors, and compliance practitioners ready to apply their domain expertise in a strategic, customer-facing capacity within the Revenue team.

Key responsibilities

Act as a strategic sales partner, owning the technical relationship with prospects and customers throughout the sales cycle.
Conduct strategic discovery with Account Executives to uncover technical, operational, and business pain points, validating use cases and tying solutions to measurable customer impact.
Deliver tailored, narrative-driven demonstrations that showcase how Vanta solves specific customer problems, including automation of GRC programmes across frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and HIPAA.
Validate technical feasibility of integrations and confirm alignment with customer environments, workflows, and architectures.
Partner with Account Executives to surface technical risks proactively and propose clear pathways to ensure focused deal progression.
Create handoff documentation for the post-sales team that captures the finalised solution design, expectations, and known risks.
Provide structured market feedback to the Product team based on customer interactions.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of customer-facing, technical experience as a solutions engineer, sales engineer, GRC consultant, or equivalent role, including B2B SaaS experience.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, plus familiarity with Windows, MacOS, and Linux operating systems.
General knowledge of at least one scripting language such as Python, Ruby, Bash, or JavaScript, with a desire to expand those skills.
Strong project management skills with attention to detail and organisational ability.
Outstanding communication, storytelling, and active listening abilities, with the capacity to deliver high-impact demonstrations.
Prior experience in cybersecurity, GRC, or audit spaces is ideal.
Familiarity with REST API development and service integrations is a plus; openness to using AI to strengthen work and improve efficiency.
