Role overview

AI71 develops enterprise-grade AI and data platform software for regulated, mission-critical environments, delivered as both managed SaaS and on-premises installations. As a Staff Quality Assurance Engineer, you will lead quality strategy and testing architecture across both deployment models, ensuring that releases meet exacting standards in cloud environments and fully disconnected, air-gapped installations where post-release patches are not an option.

Key responsibilities

Establish test architecture and quality standards across the platform, including test pyramid design and automation strategy.
Lead decisions on test tooling selection, automation investment priorities, and release-quality processes.
Mentor senior QA engineers and drive continuous improvement of quality practices across multiple teams.
Initiate and own cross-team quality initiatives aimed at reducing defect escape rates and increasing release confidence.
Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to define multi-quarter quality strategy and roadmap.
Own the release sign-off process for all deployment scenarios, including fully air-gapped and on-premises candidates.
Ensure quality practices and testing methodologies scale effectively across both managed SaaS and disconnected on-premises environments.

Requirements

Minimum 10 years of experience in QA, test engineering, or quality architecture with demonstrated architectural ownership.
At least 2 years of focused experience testing complex data-driven applications, machine learning models, or AI agents.
Proven ability to design and implement test architecture and quality processes at scale.
Expert-level proficiency in Python with Pytest, and experience with standard testing libraries including Selenium, Playwright, and Requests.
Documented track record of mentoring engineers who have progressed to operate independently at higher responsibility levels.
Demonstrated success leading major quality initiatives from conception through completion.
Deep technical understanding of testing strategy for systems operating in both managed SaaS and on-premises disconnected environments.
