KBR is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Firefighter/Driver to support operations at Morón Air Base in Seville, Spain. This full-time role is part of the UABOS program, which provides essential support services to U.S. military facilities in Spain and Turkey.
The successful candidate will be responsible for responding to emergency incidents, operating firefighting vehicles, performing rescue activities, and supporting hazardous materials response operations. This position offers an opportunity to work in a professional emergency services environment while supporting critical mission requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to fire and emergency incidents in a safe and timely manner.
- Operate and drive firefighting and emergency response vehicles.
- Perform structural firefighting, airfield firefighting, and rescue operations.
- Support hazardous materials (HAZMAT) response activities when required.
- Operate specialized firefighting equipment, including pumps, hoses, and foam systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
- Ensure firefighting tools and emergency equipment remain operational and ready for deployment.
- Follow established safety procedures and emergency response protocols.
- Assist with emergency medical support and basic first aid when necessary.
- Carry out additional duties assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- High School Diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Knowledge of firefighting methods, rescue operations, and emergency response procedures.
- Understanding of fire suppression equipment and water supply systems.
- Familiarity with aircraft fuels, propellants, oxidizers, and related hazards.
- Must meet applicable certification requirements in accordance with DOD 6055.06-M standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of professional firefighting experience.
- At least 2 years of recent experience in aircraft crash, fire, and rescue operations.
- Experience operating firefighting apparatus and emergency response equipment.
- Strong understanding of fire prevention, rescue techniques, and emergency incident management.
