What Is a UAE CV Format?
A UAE CV format is a professional resume structure used by employers and recruitment agencies across the Gulf region. While the core sections are similar to CVs used elsewhere, Gulf employers often expect additional information that won’t appear on a Western resume:

2Professional Summary
This section appears directly below your contact information. Keep it to two or three sentences. Recruiters often spend less than 10 seconds on an initial CV review — a strong summary helps them immediately understand your background.

3Personal Details
This section is more common in Gulf CVs than in many Western countries. Typical fields include Nationality, Date of Birth, Visa Status, Marital Status (optional), and Driving License if relevant.

Many local employers still expect marital status, but large multinationals often do not. Including it is optional unless specifically requested.
4Should You Add a Photo?
A photo is still common in many UAE industries — especially hospitality, aviation, customer service, retail, real estate, and sales. For IT, engineering, finance, and most multinational companies, a photo is often unnecessary.
If you include one: use a recent professional headshot, wear business attire, use a plain background, and avoid selfies or casual photos. A poor-quality photo can do more harm than good.
5Work Experience

Gulf experience is highly valued — employers know you already understand local workplace culture, GCC regulations, and industry standards in the region. Even one or two years can strengthen your application significantly.
