Established from the Emirates Abela Catering Company in 2003, Emirates Flight Catering has grown into a powerhouse in the industry, producing over 55 million meals annually. The company boasts a fleet of 295 high loader trucks and 89 specialized vehicles designed for the Airbus A380. In July 2005, the company launched its new Food Point facility, a massive 10,000 m² (107,639 sq ft) operation capable of producing 30 million meals per year.
In early 2006, Emirates Flight Catering expanded further with a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to servicing Emirates Airline flights. This facility can produce over 115,000 meals daily, while the older facility now caters to 120 international airlines operating out of Dubai Airport and provides catering for 25 airport lounges. The same year, EKFC also expanded its Linencraft laundering services.
