Role overview

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, is offering a structured two-year cadet technician programme designed to launch your aviation career. This hands-on training initiative combines theoretical education with supervised practical experience, preparing you to become a Licensed Aircraft Technician qualified to work across all aircraft maintenance areas.

Key responsibilities

  • Complete the GCAA-approved aircraft maintenance technician training syllabus and all associated programme requirements within the stipulated timeframe.
  • Achieve a minimum 75% pass rate across all module examinations throughout the training period.
  • Undertake on-the-job training under supervision and accumulate the required 12 months of practical experience to qualify for GCAA licensing and aircraft maintenance certification authorisation.
  • Maintain and complete logbook entries documenting all assigned tasks and work performed during practical training phases.
  • Perform all work in strict compliance with company procedures, health and safety regulations, airport regulations, and applicable GCAA requirements.
  • Participate in and successfully complete all mandatory technical staff competency assessments and training as scheduled by Etihad.
  • Stay current with regulatory amendments, company procedure updates, and industry maintenance best practices throughout your development.

Requirements

  • You must be a UAE national with a valid family book.
  • You must be between 18 and 29 years old.
  • You must hold a high school certificate or equivalent qualification that includes Maths, Physics, or Science with an overall score of at least 60%.
  • You must demonstrate a strong command of the English language.
  • Males must have completed or be permanently exempted from UAE National Service.
  • You must be willing to work shifts including night shifts and be flexible about working outdoors.
  • You must be willing to wear Etihad’s technical uniform.
