Role overview

Scale’s Generative AI business unit is seeking a Contributor Experience Manager to lead community engagement across a platform with hundreds of thousands of expert contributors. Scale develops reliable AI systems for critical decisions by partnering with leading research teams to improve their models using human-generated data. This operational role combines program management, strategic communications, and community building to ensure contributors remain engaged and informed.

Key responsibilities

Design and execute strategies to increase contributor participation and satisfaction across external platforms including Reddit and the internal Outlier Community.
Build systems to efficiently manage questions, feedback, and disputes across multiple platforms and social channels.
Plan and organize virtual events that foster connection among community members while monitoring sentiment to address concerns proactively.
Analyze user feedback, insights, and quantitative metrics to inform improvements to product and operational strategies.
Write and manage all communications Scale sends to contributors, ensuring consistent messaging throughout the contributor experience.
Collaborate with operations, support, communications, marketing, and legal teams to maintain alignment and cohesive messaging.
Provide leadership and direction across multiple teams, fostering ownership and removing structural barriers to collaboration.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, finance, or a related field.
Minimum five years of experience in communications, marketing operations, field operations, program management, or project management.
Proven track record managing large-scale active communities with thousands of members on platforms such as Slack, Discord, or Discourse.
Exceptional written communication skills with flawless spelling and grammar, capable of producing clear, concise, and tone-appropriate content.
Data-driven approach with ability to analyze metrics, derive insights using SQL or Claude Code, and adapt strategies accordingly.
Strong ownership orientation with willingness to execute operational tasks directly to achieve outcomes.
Experience managing at least one direct report with accountability to outcomes.
