We are seeking an IT Engineer I to join the IT Engineering team in London, supporting Workplace Technology across a diverse range of services and platforms. In this generalist role, you will maintain and improve the technology services that enable our colleagues to work effectively while ensuring security, reliability, and ease of use.
Key responsibilities
- Administer and improve services across the Workplace Technology portfolio, including identity management systems, endpoint management tools, collaboration platforms, asset and licence processes, and office technology.
- Support secure identity lifecycle and access management activities such as user onboarding, role changes, departures, single sign-on configuration, and implementation of least-privilege access controls.
- Manage and support company endpoints and workplace services by applying security configurations, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to a consistent experience across different platforms.
- Own incidents through their complete lifecycle, from initial triage and prioritisation through service restoration, root-cause analysis, and documentation in knowledge management systems.
- Plan and deliver small-to-medium technical projects independently, coordinating with stakeholders to manage dependencies, risks, and successful outcomes.
- Identify manual, repetitive work and service friction points, then propose or build appropriately controlled automation and simplified workflows to reduce operational burden.
- Share knowledge across the team, contribute to onboarding documentation, and support colleagues in developing their technical capabilities.
Requirements
- Typically 2-3 or more years of experience in IT engineering, workplace technology, systems administration, or a similar technical role.
- Practical experience supporting or administering a range of workplace technology services with a strong foundation in at least one relevant area.
- Experience with some of the following platforms is valuable: identity and access management systems such as Okta, Google Workspace, Atlassian products, macOS or Windows endpoint management tools such as Jamf or Microsoft Intune, SaaS administration, IT asset or licence management, or office technology.
- A security mindset that understands least privilege, secure configuration, data protection, auditability, and careful change management.
- A logical, evidence-led approach to troubleshooting with the ability to explain technical options and trade-offs clearly.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and technical teams, translating technical detail into clear updates.
- Adaptability and comfort working across varied technology environments, learning new tools, and balancing planned work with operational priorities.
