Role overview

Scale is building AI infrastructure for major enterprises worldwide. As a Forward Deployed Product Manager, you will be embedded with high-impact enterprise customers, directly accountable for successful product deployments into production. This role bridges customer reality and the platform team, ensuring that Scale’s product roadmap reflects the real operational constraints and needs of large-scale deployments.

Key responsibilities

Own product outcomes and customer value delivery for a portfolio of enterprise accounts, serving as the accountable PM for each deployment.
Build trusted advisory relationships with senior stakeholders and technical leads at customer organizations, acting as the primary escalation point for product-related issues.
Drive deployments from contract signing through production readiness, identifying and closing gaps between current state and production-ready systems.
Translate customer workflows, operational friction, and priorities into high-signal product feedback for the core platform team, backed by specific evidence and tradeoff analysis.
Distinguish whether deployment blockers stem from product limitations, execution challenges, integration gaps, or change management needs, and drive resolution through the appropriate channel.
Work closely with forward-deployed engineers to ensure coordinated account execution rather than parallel workstreams.
Identify expansion opportunities based on demonstrated customer value and represent customer reality to platform and leadership with sufficient credibility to influence decisions.

Requirements

Six or more years in product management, technical program management, or customer-facing product ownership roles.
Proven track record of shipping products or platform capabilities into large organizations at scale, with demonstrated understanding of real integration, security constraints, and change management challenges.
Strong ability to translate customer needs into product direction while exercising judgment to say no to requests and explain the reasoning credibly.
Demonstrated skill in earning and maintaining trust with demanding senior stakeholders over extended engagements and managing conflict constructively.
Technical fluency sufficient to have substantive conversations with platform engineers about architectural tradeoffs and production system behavior.
Extreme ownership and follow-through on commitments; ability to drive outcomes across teams without formal authority and close loops independently.
Capable of operating with senior customer stakeholders and senior engineers simultaneously, with a credible presence in high-stakes discussions on both sides.
