Role overview

Docebo is an AI-powered learning platform that helps organizations create, deliver, and manage training at scale. As a Founding Forward Deployed Engineer, you will be a core member of a new team building custom AI solutions for enterprise customers. This role involves translating complex learning and development workflows into autonomous AI agents while establishing operational practices for the entire Forward Deployed Engineering function from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

Work directly with strategic enterprise customers to map complex L&D workflows and identify high-impact opportunities for AI agent integration.
Design, build, and deploy custom AI agents that integrate seamlessly with customer systems and the Docebo Agent Hub.
Take full ownership of the product lifecycle from discovery and system architecture through production deployment, monitoring, and ongoing optimization.
Translate hands-on customer insights into foundational platform enhancements that become scalable features for the broader ecosystem.
Define operational processes, internal playbooks, and technical roadmaps for the Forward Deployed Engineering team as a founding member.
Shape team culture and cross-functional organizational design while establishing what success looks like for this new function.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience building, shipping, and maintaining production-grade full-stack software products.
Prior experience building, fine-tuning, or deploying agentic AI systems and LLM-powered applications in production environments.
Proficiency in frontend development using React and TypeScript, and backend development with Next.js and TypeScript.
Strong architectural background with solid experience in distributed systems, AWS, Kubernetes, and LLM providers.
Familiarity with modern engineering tooling including GitLab, Datadog, OpenTofu, and multi-LLM orchestration tools.
Comfort thriving in ambiguity, making high-stakes decisions with incomplete information, and taking complete ownership of undefined problems.
Demonstrated ability to engage directly with enterprise stakeholders with strong communication skills and customer-centric focus.
