Role overview
Scale is seeking a Growth Program Manager to lead strategic initiatives that identify, engage, and onboard domain specialists—engineers, finance professionals, scientists, and others—whose expertise helps AI systems learn to reason within their fields. You’ll own the full lifecycle of growth programs, from strategy and design through execution and scaling, using both traditional program management and AI-powered automation to drive measurable results.
Key responsibilities
- Define strategy, goals, and investment priorities for assigned programs, identifying the highest-impact levers and resource allocation decisions.
- Take full accountability for program outcomes including pipeline generation, conversion rates, time-to-productivity, and expert retention.
- Build and lead the teams that execute programs, including hiring and coaching leads for specific functional areas and setting performance standards.
- Develop sustainable expert pipelines through targeted outreach, channel expansion, and innovative sourcing approaches.
- Design and implement AI workflows and automations that reduce manual work in sourcing, screening, onboarding, and reporting, such as LLM-powered outreach, lead enrichment systems, and automated QA checks.
- Create transparent reporting dashboards that surface program performance, identify gaps, and recommend actions.
- Run continuous experiments on targeting, messaging, channels, processes, and tools, then systematize successful approaches into repeatable playbooks.
- Collaborate across growth teams, operations, project managers, and external vendors to maintain alignment and remove blockers.
Requirements
- At least four years of experience in program operations, growth, recruiting, workforce operations, strategy and operations, or comparable roles.
- Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of a program, including accountability for strategy, execution, and problem resolution when issues arose.
- Ability to move fluidly between strategic thinking and detailed execution, comfortable with both planning and spreadsheet-level analysis.
- Experience building and managing teams, ideally distributed or contractor-based structures.
- Strong data literacy with the ability to define metrics, analyze funnels, and make decisions from incomplete data; capable of running your own analysis in SQL or Python.
- High agency and ownership mindset; you navigate ambiguity effectively and thrive building solutions from scratch with limited direction.
- Hands-on experience building with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, n8n, Zapier, Make, Retool, or Apps Script, with at least one workflow or automation you created that achieved real adoption.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, as this role relies heavily on Slack, email, and async collaboration across teams.
What makes this role worth considering
You’ll work in a fast-scaling environment where novel problems emerge at volume, requiring you to build solutions that others haven’t yet encountered. This role offers genuine autonomy: you design programs from the ground up, lead teams, and move directly to the next high-impact challenge once programs reach steady state, creating a clear path to building diverse operational capabilities.
