Position Summary
Position: Housekeeping Attendant
Location: Blue River, BC
Type: Seasonal, Full-Time
Reports to: Executive Housekeeper
The Housekeeping Attendant performs standard housekeeping duties at the resort and all affiliated properties, ensuring all rooms and public areas are serviced and cleaned to the highest standards while working cooperatively with the team.
This is a seasonal, full-time position offering a pay rate of $21.40 per hour.
Job Responsibilities
The selected Housekeeping Attendant will be responsible for:
- Ensuring clean linen is kept in good repair
- Checking rooms regularly for repairs and refurbishing needs, and recording required maintenance
- Restocking maids’ closet supplies and amenities daily
- Ensuring staff accommodation is kept clean and in good repair
- Maintaining cleanliness standards within the housekeeping department
- Complying with safety regulations and maintaining clean, orderly work areas
- Driving company vehicles safely and reporting any damage to the housekeeping manager immediately
- Communicating effectively and professionally, being responsible, ethical, and team-oriented
- Always ensuring guest confidentiality
- Maintaining high-quality work with strong attention to detail
- Performing all duties in a timely and effective manner, within company policies
- Communicating problems or ideas to the supervisor
Housekeeping Attendant Job Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Experience is considered an asset, but not required
- Ability to frequently bend and kneel, lift moderate weight, and stand for extended periods
- Strong communication skills
- Must be able to speak English
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work a variety of day and weekend shifts
- Valid driver’s license is an asset
- Must be punctual
- Must carry a radio to communicate with team members and other departments daily
- Must follow the dress code: black jeans and a company-supplied MWHS housekeeping shirt, with a visible name tag at all times
- Must wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where necessary
Working Conditions
- May be exposed to waste, infectious waste, and conditions consistent with maintenance, janitorial, and housekeeping work
- Requires manual dexterity
- Long hours may be required to meet business needs
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 25 pounds
- Weekend shifts as needed
