About the Inventory Clerk Role

This role involves setting up stock control cards, recording details such as nomenclature, units issued, and balances, and coordinating with Engineers and Supervisors to determine appropriate maximum and minimum bin level quantities. The Inventory Clerk prepares Purchase Requisition orders once minimum bin levels are reached and ensures timely procurement of spare consumables based on operational needs. The role also includes maintaining a complete physical inventory register for furniture, cabinets, and other items not covered under the Biomedical or Plant Services asset registers, along with managing property transfer forms and location records. Additionally, the position involves coordinating and overseeing daily spare parts requirements for the Facilities Management Service.

  • Establishes and maintains an organized filing system, keeping the hospital’s furniture inventory current.
  • Prioritizes tasks efficiently to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Manages time effectively to remain accessible and responsive.
  • Carries out Engineering Sub-store inventory checks and reports findings with detailed line-item results.
  • Stays informed on the duties of other Support Services clerical staff to provide coverage when needed.
  • Supports the implementation of sustainable practices and policies within Facilities Management operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.

Professional Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a maintenance department within a healthcare organization or a similar setting.
  • Familiarity with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Understanding of Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) standards.
  • Cross-trade skills gained through relevant trade training.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing English.
