Role overview

This position leads two teams of platform engineers as Manager of Site Reliability Engineering for Lightspeed, a global cloud-based point-of-sale SaaS platform. You will oversee a wide scope spanning site reliability and developer experience, managing the full software delivery cycle from CI/CD pipelines through high-availability production environments. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of systems that support customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

Coach, mentor, and motivate a senior team of cross-functional cloud platform engineers while driving performance management, goal setting, and individual development activities.
Develop and execute a strategic vision for the SRE team aligned with company objectives, including understanding business unit roadmaps and managing cross-departmental interactions.
Define the team’s vision, prioritize projects with emphasis on developer experience and production stability, and project manage the roadmap to keep execution on track.
Lead the design and implementation of scalable, reliable, and efficient infrastructure solutions leveraging modern cloud technologies across the global platform.
Drive automation efforts to streamline deployment, monitoring, and operational processes while enhancing system efficiency.
Collaborate with engineering, product, and SRE teams across departments to facilitate alignment on platform goals and drive cross-organizational initiatives.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates, gather requirements, and address concerns while fostering transparency and trust.

Requirements

Proven experience working autonomously across multiple streams of work and a track record of delivering successful projects through high-performing teams.
Extensive hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure providers such as AWS and GCP.
Proven expertise in orchestrating and managing infrastructure through code to streamline operations and promote automation.
Experience across both engineering and leadership roles with demonstrated ability to lead large teams through complex projects.
Ability to provide strategic direction and establish long-term team objectives while shaping the technical direction of platform engineering.
Experience implementing cross-team process improvements and leading medium to large-sized teams of platform engineers.
