Role overview
Leantech is seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead product strategy and development for LeanX, a cross-border payments and stablecoin infrastructure business operating within Lean, a leading financial infrastructure provider across the Middle East. As a startup within a scaling company, LeanX is at an early stage where you would shape its direction from near the beginning, supported by Lean’s existing infrastructure, regulatory licenses, client base and leadership team.
Key responsibilities
- Own the complete product strategy for LeanX across all product lines, determining what to build, why, and the order of execution.
- Convert strategy into detailed specifications, prioritized roadmaps and clear direction that the engineering team can execute against.
- Build a competitive cross-border payments platform that scales efficiently across multiple corridors and client bases without requiring rebuilding for each expansion.
- Automate treasury operations including pre-funding, liquidity management, foreign exchange and reconciliation to eliminate manual processes.
- Define technical infrastructure requirements for the cross-border platform and guide engineering teams toward implementation.
- Develop and own the stablecoin infrastructure roadmap, including wallets as a service, on-ramp and off-ramp capabilities, and stablecoin-based payment solutions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for product questions from clients, commercial teams and the wider organization, enabling engineers to focus on development.
- Ensure seamless integration between LeanX and Lean’s core infrastructure while maintaining a unified platform across fiat and stablecoin offerings.
Requirements
- Minimum eight years of product management experience with significant responsibility for B2B or infrastructure products.
- Demonstrated experience working with cross-border payments, remittance solutions, payouts, treasury systems, or stablecoin and digital asset infrastructure.
- Strong technical fluency including comfort with APIs, system design discussions and understanding engineering trade-offs.
- Proven track record of advancing products from early stage through to scale, preferably within a startup or new business unit.
- Experience operating within regulated environments and incorporating compliance and licensing considerations into product design.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to author specifications and strategy documents independently.
- Experience managing distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones.
What makes this role worth considering
You would join Lean’s leadership team for LeanX while working closely with dedicated engineering teams based in Sarajevo and commercial teams in Dubai, with regular travel to both locations expected. This role offers the rare opportunity to shape a new business line within an established, well-funded company that has already processed billions of dollars in transactions and serves over 450 clients across the Middle East region, backed by leading investors including General Catalyst and Sequoia.
