Role overview

Cohere is an enterprise AI company that builds foundation models and products for businesses implementing AI systems. As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer on the Internal Applications team, you will develop tools that directly support the company’s model development and deployment efforts, collaborating with researchers, annotators, product managers and other internal teams to create software that enhances engineering productivity.

Key responsibilities

Develop user-facing products across both front-end and back-end systems with careful attention to code quality.
Work closely with internal stakeholders across multiple disciplines to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions.
Collaborate with fellow engineers through pair programming, architectural discussions, documentation and knowledge-sharing sessions.
Identify and resolve technical obstacles that impede team velocity and system performance.
Design and maintain resilient systems that are critical to company operations.
Evaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance system performance and reliability.

Requirements

Experience shipping products in environments with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
Proficiency working across the full stack, including hands-on experience with Next.js, TypeScript, React and Python.
Demonstrated ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries.
Strong communication skills with a commitment to clear documentation and thoughtful technical discussion.
Willingness to expand your technical skillset and adopt new tools when appropriate.
Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
Interest in AI and a desire to contribute to scaling an AI-focused organization.
