Docebo is an AI-powered learning platform that helps organizations create, deliver, and manage training at scale. As a Senior Product Engineer II in the Backend team, you will take ownership of complex technical initiatives that span multiple systems and services, driving both individual technical excellence and team-wide engineering standards.

Key responsibilities

Own complex technical initiatives from architecture and design through implementation, production deployment, and ongoing evolution across multiple sprints.
Design and build reliable backend systems including services, APIs, data models, and asynchronous workflows that support complete customer outcomes.
Navigate across system boundaries including frontend applications, backend services, data layers, and platform integrations to deliver complete end-to-end solutions.
Set technical direction by bringing deep backend expertise to architecture decisions and establishing engineering patterns across the broader system.
Serve as a technical anchor within your squad by breaking down complex work, coordinating dependencies, unblocking teammates, and maintaining delivery momentum.
Drive engineering excellence by raising standards for testing, CI/CD practices, observability, code quality, and pragmatic technical debt management.
Mentor engineers through architecture discussions, design reviews, code reviews, and knowledge sharing while partnering across Product, Design, QA, and platform teams.

Requirements

Six or more years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in backend engineering and strong working knowledge across the broader technical stack.
Proven track record of owning complex technical initiatives end-to-end from architecture through production deployment and operation.
Strong understanding of service architecture, APIs, distributed systems, cloud services, and maintainable production software.
Significant experience designing and evolving data models, schemas, and access patterns, with solid knowledge of relational databases, query performance, indexing, migrations, and data integrity.
Experience building reliable background processing, messaging, and event-driven workflows across services and integration boundaries.
Ability to reason about failure modes, concurrency, retries, data consistency, and performance across distributed services.
Strong experience with automated testing, CI/CD practices, observability, monitoring, and balancing technical debt management with delivery needs.
