Role overview

Zip is an AI-powered enterprise procurement platform used by major companies including T-Mobile, OpenAI, AMD, and Mars. The company is seeking an experienced software engineer to join the Core Infrastructure team in Toronto, where you will take ownership of critical infrastructure components supporting Zip’s global multi-region expansion.

Key responsibilities

Drive multi-region growth by designing and operating global multi-cell architectures that scale across Zip’s enterprise customer base.
Own end-to-end delivery of one or more core infrastructure components, including Kubernetes platforms, AI infrastructure, observability systems, deployment pipelines, and cost optimization initiatives.
Lead the design and implementation of highly scalable systems while establishing operational excellence standards across your area of ownership.
Partner with engineering teams across time zones to accelerate product development and support Zip’s technical roadmap.
Build and operate large-scale platforms independently, making architectural decisions and managing their real-world performance.

Requirements

A minimum of 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
Proven ability to independently build and operate large-scale platforms or infrastructure systems in production environments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and time zones.
A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field such as Physics or Mathematics.
Hands-on expertise with cloud platforms like AWS, monitoring tools such as Datadog, container orchestration with Kubernetes, and open-source technologies including Celery, Redis, Docling, and DBOS.
