Role overview

Kepler Communications operates the first commercial optical data relay constellation, with 33 satellites launched to date, delivering real-time on-orbit connectivity for critical missions. As a Software Engineering Intern, you will contribute to developing and maintaining high-performance backend services and infrastructure that support satellite operations, ground stations, and mission control software.

Key responsibilities

Develop and maintain backend services and infrastructure components alongside the software engineering team.
Work with cross-functional teams including satellite operations and ground stations personnel to build scalable applications.
Support the development and testing of satellite and mission control software systems.
Engage hands-on with the company’s software stack from your first day.
Contribute to applications that enable real-time space communications and on-orbit compute capabilities.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in or recently completed studies in software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
Strong foundation in software development principles and programming languages.
Ability to work collaboratively with engineers across satellite operations, ground stations, and software teams.
Enthusiasm for learning cutting-edge space technology and tackling real-world engineering challenges.
