Role overview
Geotab is a global leader in IoT and connected transportation, processing billions of data points daily to help businesses manage their fleets more effectively. As Team Lead for Software Development, you will lead the technical strategy and delivery of Geotab’s Marketing web development team, overseeing the creation of websites, landing pages, campaign experiences and related digital products that support marketing and demand-generation goals.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day technical direction and delivery of the Marketing web development team.
- Coach, mentor and develop software developers through feedback, technical guidance and career support.
- Own the planning and delivery of marketing websites, landing pages, campaign experiences, content platforms, integrations and related web products.
- Establish standards for architecture, code quality, accessibility, performance, responsive design, security, SEO and maintainability across team deliverables.
- Lead technical discovery, estimation and solution design while making pragmatic decisions in response to changing priorities.
- Establish effective development practices including code review, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, documentation and incident response.
- Use web analytics, search performance data, experimentation and stakeholder feedback to identify opportunities and measure improvements.
Requirements
- Eight or more years of experience in software development, including significant experience delivering production web applications.
- Two or more years of experience leading, coaching or mentoring software developers, or equivalent technical leadership experience.
- Strong experience building and operating responsive, accessible and high-performance websites and web applications.
- Technical proficiency with HTML/CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, C#/.NET, SQL, Git and CI/CD practices.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and deployment practices, preferably using GCP and Docker.
- Experience with content management systems, design systems, component libraries, web analytics, SEO, experimentation and privacy considerations.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Development or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication, project planning, prioritization, stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
