Accounts Payable Section Head

Role overview

e.construct is a multi-disciplinary engineering design firm with a global presence, specializing in structural, MEP, geotechnical, and emerging construction technologies. As Accounts Payable Section Head in Dubai, you will lead the complete accounts payable function, overseeing vendor payments, expense management, and financial controls while supervising the AP team.

Key responsibilities

Direct the accounts payable process to guarantee accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, payments, and employee expense reimbursements.
Monitor aging reports and manage resolution of outstanding vendor balances to maintain healthy cash flow.
Oversee vendor master data maintenance, onboarding procedures, and ensure all vendor relationships comply with company policies.
Review and authorize significant vendor payments in accordance with established company guidelines.
Work across departments with procurement and operations teams to resolve payment discrepancies and align payment schedules with budget priorities.
Manage month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals, sub-ledger reconciliation, and audit preparation.
Supervise and develop AP staff members, promoting accountability and continuous improvement within the team.

Requirements

Demonstrated experience in accounts payable operations and team leadership or supervisory roles.
Strong knowledge of VAT and tax compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions, including the USA, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.
Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably Oracle NetSuite or similar platforms.
Solid understanding of internal control frameworks and financial compliance procedures.
Excellent vendor management and cross-functional communication skills with the ability to resolve complex payment issues.
Capability to identify and drive process improvements and automation opportunities within accounting operations.
