Role overview

Geotab is seeking an AI Solutions Developer to design, build, and deploy custom AI applications and automated workflows for the Global Enablement team. As a global leader in IoT and connected transportation, Geotab processes billions of data points daily and uses machine learning to help businesses optimize operations, improve safety, and enhance compliance. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who wants to turn AI ideas into secure, production-ready solutions that drive measurable business value.

Key responsibilities

Architect and deploy custom AI agents and automation solutions using Python, LangChain, AutoGen, and related frameworks to address business challenges within Global Enablement.
Develop backend logic and microservices to support AI workflows, ensuring high availability and scalability of deployed agents.
Build retrieval augmented generation (RAG) systems by integrating large language models with PostgreSQL with pgvector and vector databases such as Pinecone and Weaviate to enable secure interaction with proprietary data.
Write clean, maintainable code for content generation, localization, and multimedia processing automations while following software development best practices including version control, code reviews, and testing.
Develop complete AI applications with intuitive user interfaces, backend services, and secure API integrations for internal and external users.
Implement conversation management, context retention, structured outputs, and tool calling to support interactive learning and multi-step workflows.
Design and implement secure RESTful API integrations connecting AI agents with business systems, learning platforms, knowledge repositories, and third-party platforms.
Establish engineering best practices, CI/CD pipelines, AI evaluation processes, and security guardrails while monitoring performance and cost efficiency.

Requirements

Demonstrated expertise in Python development and experience with AI frameworks such as LangChain and AutoGen.
Strong background building or working with large language models, retrieval augmented generation systems, and vector databases.
Experience developing full-stack applications, including both backend microservices and user-facing interfaces.
Proven ability to design and implement secure API integrations and work with databases including PostgreSQL.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate loosely defined business requirements into precise technical specifications.
Excellent communication skills to explain technical capabilities, limitations, and tradeoffs clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ownership of work from concept through deployment and ongoing operation, with a disciplined approach to documentation and testing.
