Role overview

Vosker is North America’s leader in remote area surveillance, developing solar-powered and cellular-connected cameras integrated with an exclusive platform. This divisional controller role supports the financial operations of the Canadian division by ensuring the quality and reliability of financial information. Working within the finance department, you will collaborate across financial and operational teams to produce trustworthy financial data and drive business insights.

Key responsibilities

Ensure proper accounting treatment of transactions and maintain the reliability of divisional financial information.
Participate in monthly close procedures, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and period-end analyses.
Prepare monthly divisional financial statements and analyze significant variations.
Analyze cost of sales, margins, and key financial performance indicators.
Support budget and forecast preparation and conduct variance analysis against projections.
Generate financial reports and analyses requested by management to inform decision-making.
Handle the accounting portion of RS&DE claims and prepare associated financial documentation.
Maintain and improve financial processes and controls while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Support year-end procedures and respond to external auditor requests.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline.
Three to five years of relevant experience in financial accounting.
Solid understanding of the accounting cycle and monthly close process.
Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements.
Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail.
Autonomy, rigor, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Excel.
ERP system experience is an asset.
RS&DE experience is an asset.
CPA designation or progress toward certification is an asset.
