Role overview
CoLab builds AI-powered software for mechanical engineering teams at companies like Bobcat, Triumph Motorcycles, and GE Appliances. As Customer Education Lead, you’ll design and deliver learning programs that help customers adopt the platform faster, reduce time-to-value, and build the scalable education infrastructure—including CoLab Academy—that supports the entire customer base from onboarding through advanced use cases.
Key responsibilities
- Map distinct customer audiences to identify what each group needs to learn and when, using product usage data, support ticket trends, and feedback from Customer Success Managers to pinpoint friction points where education can have the greatest impact.
- Create customer-facing onboarding and enablement materials including videos, guides, templates, and self-paced modules that translate complex product workflows into clear, actionable resources.
- Design interactive learning paths and build assessments and certification exams that validate customer mastery of knowledge and skills, including the full CoLab Academy curriculum.
- Evaluate, select, and implement a learning management system or content hub that enables self-serve learning, progress tracking, and completion reporting with repeatable content creation and maintenance processes.
- Build feedback loops between learners, Customer Success Managers, and Product to ensure content improves continuously as the product ships new features.
- Measure the impact of education content on customer health, user activation, feature adoption, and renewal outcomes, and iterate based on data.
- Equip Customer Success Managers and Solutions Engineers with ready-to-use materials to drive consistent messaging and partner with Product Marketing on feature launches to ensure education content is ready at release.
Requirements
- At least three years of experience in instructional design, customer education, or enablement at a B2B SaaS company.
- Proven experience creating customer-facing content that drives measurable adoption and demonstrated success linking education programs to business outcomes such as adoption, time-to-value, and renewals.
- Strong project management and collaboration skills across teams including Customer Success, Product, and Marketing.
- Excellent writing, organization, and presentation skills.
- Experience with technical B2B products, particularly engineering tools such as CAD, PLM, or DevOps, is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with learning management system platforms like Skilljar or Docebo, or course authoring tools like Articulate Rise or Camtasia, is preferred.
- Ability to design for scale using both asynchronous and live learning formats and background in customer marketing or community building is valued.
