Role overview

This is a 12-week summer internship in 2027 with Coinbase’s Strategy, Execution, & Analytics team within the Platform group. You will work on data science projects that directly influence how the company’s millions of customers experience cryptocurrency products. The role offers hands-on experience at a publicly traded crypto-native company, with mentorship from senior data scientists and exposure to how analytics shape business decisions at scale.

Key responsibilities

Collaborate with product teams to develop analyses and construct models that produce measurable business results.
Support the design and implementation of experiments, including A/B testing and causal inference methodologies.
Build and sustain analytical datasets and data pipelines that maintain data quality and enable robust analyses and modeling.
Communicate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable insights tailored for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Work alongside senior team members on in-depth analytical investigations to identify and resolve complex business challenges.

Requirements

Completed coursework or project experience in statistical modeling, data analysis, or a related quantitative discipline such as mathematics, economics, physics, or computer science.
Proficiency with SQL for data analysis and Python for programming or modeling work.
Proven interest in experimentation methods like A/B testing, causal inference, or machine learning demonstrated through coursework or personal projects.
Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or graduate degree program in a quantitative field including mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science, or economics, or equivalent professional experience.
Ability to use generative AI responsibly while maintaining human oversight to produce business-ready outputs and achieve measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
