Role overview
Tamara is a leading fintech platform serving the Saudi Arabia and GCC region, with over 25 million customers and 130,000 partner merchants relying on its financial solutions. As a Fraud Investigator within the Trust and Safety team, you will play a critical role in protecting the company and its customers by detecting and investigating suspicious transactions and activities that could result in financial losses or reputational harm.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze transactions and customer activities to identify potential fraud, money laundering, and other criminal activities.
- Utilize data analysis tools, statistical modeling, and fraud detection systems to recognize suspicious patterns, trends, and anomalies within financial transaction data.
- Conduct thorough investigations of flagged suspicious activities and produce detailed written reports documenting your findings.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to design and implement fraud prevention measures that strengthen the company’s overall security position.
- Contact customers and merchants regularly to verify transaction details and gather additional information as part of investigations.
- Maintain current knowledge of emerging fraud prevention techniques, industry trends, and new technologies in the field.
- Offer guidance and support to team members as needed to help strengthen investigative capabilities across the department.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
- Two to three years of hands-on experience in fraud prevention or fraud investigation roles.
- Strong analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail when reviewing complex data sets.
- Proficiency in Excel and SQL, with Python knowledge preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex findings to diverse audiences.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic.
- Ability to work both independently and effectively within a collaborative team environment.
