Gestionnaire, opérations juridiques et automatisation
Role overview
Lightspeed is seeking a Manager of Legal Operations and Automation to lead the design and implementation of their legal technology ecosystem. In this position, you will serve as the primary architect of automated workflows and efficiency improvements across the legal department, working closely with legal teams, IT, sales, and revenue operations to transform manual processes into streamlined, technology-enabled operations.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze daily legal team activities and map existing processes to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.
- Prioritize automation initiatives based on business value, risk reduction, time savings, and impact on stakeholders.
- Design and test end-to-end automated workflows for legal and contract review processes using existing tools such as Spellbook, Ironclad, and Glean.
- Build custom request forms, approval processes with conditional routing, and automated document generation templates.
- Develop reusable templates and automation libraries to standardize processes and accelerate future projects.
- Create best practices and practical guides for legal team members to use AI and automation tools effectively without requiring technical expertise.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, validate solutions, and drive adoption.
- Establish and monitor automation performance by tracking key metrics such as processing time, cost and time savings, error rates, and adoption rates to measure return on investment and report results to leadership.
- Foster a process optimization culture within the legal team and promote best practices in documentation and governance.
Requirements
- Between two and five years of combined experience in legal operations, systems engineering, process improvement, systems implementation, or automation development.
- Demonstrated experience designing, building, and configuring process automations and integrations, not merely using existing systems.
- Strong knowledge of modern AI tools and prompt engineering, with genuine interest in evaluating technology solutions using build versus buy approaches.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills and the ability to explain technical capabilities to non-technical legal and business stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving competencies.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing requests in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience mentoring, training, and developing the capabilities of colleagues and stakeholders.
- Fluency in English as a working language, as the company operates internationally with employees and clients outside Quebec.
