Role overview

This is a 12-week summer internship with Coinbase’s Internal Audit Data Analytics Team. You will support data-driven control testing across the company’s global technology infrastructure and crypto-native products by extracting, analyzing, and validating datasets from internal systems to assess how well controls are designed and functioning.

Key responsibilities

Write SQL queries against Snowflake and other internal data platforms to evaluate the design and operational effectiveness of key internal controls.
Build continuous auditing processes and AI tooling for use across the Internal Audit function.
Test system and model changes by validating compliance and performance impacts, then document results for stakeholders.
Generate data extracts and reports from various sources by translating audit data requests into clear requirements and actionable outputs.
Validate data ETL processes moving between production systems, repositories, and enterprise tools, verifying completeness and accuracy at each stage.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a degree program in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
Demonstrated proficiency writing SQL queries and working with large datasets through coursework, projects, or prior internship experience.
Understanding of data ETL concepts and how data flows between production systems, repositories, and enterprise tools.
Experience presenting data findings to non-technical audiences through written reports, presentations, or project deliverables.
Ability to use generative AI responsibly with human oversight to produce business-ready outputs and improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
