Role overview
BRKZ is a construction-tech startup backed by leading regional and global venture capital firms, operating Saudi Arabia’s fastest-growing digital platform connecting contractors with building-material suppliers. As a Logistics Officer, you will oversee ground operations to ensure construction materials move efficiently from factories and supplier yards to customer job sites throughout the Kingdom, managing dispatch coordination, transporter relationships, and operational compliance at scale.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and dispatch daily shipments including bulk materials, cement, flatbed loads, and heavy haulage to guarantee timely delivery across customer sites.
- Source, qualify, and onboard high-quality local transport providers to build a diversified transporter network across all trade lanes in Saudi Arabia.
- Negotiate freight and haulage rates with transporters, develop competitive lane-by-lane rate cards, and optimize freight cost per unit without compromising service reliability.
- Oversee delivery documentation including delivery notes, weight tickets, and factory loading orders, and reconcile actual quantities delivered against purchase orders and transporter invoices.
- Collaborate with operations, account managers, finance, and supplier teams to resolve field issues quickly and prevent delivery delays.
- Monitor shipments in real time using internal dashboards, route planning tools, and fleet platforms to track driver performance and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Two to five years of experience in logistics, dispatch, or transport procurement in Saudi Arabia, preferably with construction materials or heavy haulage backgrounds.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in logistics, supply chain, business, or equivalent professional field experience.
- Deep knowledge of Saudi road transport regulations, vehicle types, weight limits, loading procedures including FASAH certification for cement, and site and factory workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate transport rates, build rate cards, and reduce freight unit costs through strategic sourcing.
- High accuracy with delivery notes, weight tickets, purchase order reconciliation, and the capability to quickly source and onboard new transporters.
- Native Arabic fluency with very good English communication skills.
- Proficiency in Google Sheets and dashboards with adaptability to technology platforms such as Metabase and OPS Portal; valid Saudi driving license and willingness to visit job sites and factories.
