Role overview
Halter is developing virtual fencing technology that transforms how farmers manage land and animals across New Zealand and beyond. As a Logistics Specialist, you will oversee the dispatch operation that delivers hardware—collars, towers, and accessories—to new farmers joining the platform. This role sits at the centre of operations, ensuring that every customer deployment runs smoothly and at pace.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and dispatch hardware orders to farmers across all New Zealand regions.
- Work closely with third-party logistics partners to maintain accountability for speed and quality standards.
- Manage delivery timelines, track shipments in real time, and proactively resolve issues before they escalate.
- Keep internal teams aligned and informed about dispatch status and any bottlenecks.
- Investigate operational details when something does not meet expected standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve the dispatch process so it can scale efficiently as the business grows.
Requirements
- Experience working in logistics, supply chain, operations, warehousing, dispatch, or manufacturing environments.
- Natural ownership mindset—you identify problems and take action without waiting to be directed.
- Ability to manage detail while maintaining awareness of the broader operational picture.
- Confidence holding partners accountable to agreed standards and timelines.
- Composure and effectiveness in high-tempo, fast-moving environments under pressure.
- Problem-solving approach that treats obstacles as puzzles rather than roadblocks.
What makes this role worth considering
This position offers real scope for growth and career development. As operational complexity increases, the role can evolve into broader supply chain ownership, international freight management, inventory strategy, or operational leadership. You will shape the systems and standards that form the backbone of Halter’s global expansion, not simply execute a existing process. The company operates on an office-first culture model based in Auckland, emphasizing in-person collaboration and high-energy teamwork where people work together daily to solve complex problems and drive impact.
