Role overview

UniversalAGI is developing foundation models that apply AI to engineering simulation, a field traditionally dominated by decades-old numerical methods. As a Product Engineer, you will own the customer-facing product that enables engineers at major industrial and defense organizations to import geometry and simulation data, configure model workflows, monitor jobs, and deploy results for computational fluid dynamics and reservoir engineering problems.

Key responsibilities

Build the complete product experience that allows engineers to import CAD and 3D geometry, input simulation and test data, configure model workflows, and monitor simulation jobs.
Develop production features across the full stack using React, TypeScript, Next.js, Python, databases, cloud services, and APIs.
Design intuitive interfaces, workflow templates, and APIs that make complex simulations, datasets, model evaluations, and engineering outputs accessible to expert users.
Work directly with customers to understand their engineering processes, identify common needs, and translate customer-specific insights into scalable product capabilities.
Maintain and improve production quality through observability, performance optimization, versioning, data migrations, and incident diagnosis.
Partner with the founding team, research scientists, and platform engineering to shape product priorities, technical architecture, and interfaces.

Requirements

Demonstrated experience shipping and operating customer-facing products with React or TypeScript frontends, Python backends, APIs, and data systems.
Strong product judgment and ability to transform complex technical workflows into clear, effective experiences for expert users.
Comfort designing maintainable systems, debugging production issues, and managing reliability, rollouts, and data migrations.
Ability to work directly with technical users, make sound tradeoffs, and take ownership of outcomes in an early-stage environment.
Technical depth and hands-on contribution ability, combined with a growth mindset and comfort with ambiguity and rapid change.
