Role overview

Prospa is building a platform to help small businesses manage payments, fund growth, and streamline administration. As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will deliver accurate financial reporting, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and provide financial insights to support strategic decisions across the Finance function. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Sydney.

Key responsibilities

Manage and support the month-end close process, including general ledger integrity and reconciliations.
Perform loan book reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of related journal entries.
Support daily payment processing and cash flow activities.
Serve as the primary contact for external audits and coordinate the audit process.
Prepare financial statements in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards.
Handle compliance and regulatory reporting requirements, including statutory obligations.
Mentor and guide junior accountants to foster technical development and best practices.
Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

CA or CPA qualification with 4–6 years of experience in financial accounting roles.
Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Advanced Excel skills and ERP system experience, with NetSuite preferred.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
