Role overview
Careem seeks a Senior Product Designer to lead design strategy for a major area of its multi-service super app platform operating across the greater Middle East. You will own the complete design journey from concept through launch, shaping the vision your team executes while working with AI-native tools to accelerate delivery and improve user outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Own design strategy and execution end-to-end for your feature area, defining and iterating experiences that enhance user outcomes and drive commercial metrics
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering leadership to establish clarity on what is being built, why, and for whom, while identifying and resolving dependencies
- Deliver comprehensive, polished work that addresses all interaction details including states, edge cases, dark mode, localisation and RTL considerations
- Conduct user research and validation to inform design decisions; run interviews for discovery and testing to measure impact
- Create compelling documentation and presentations for stakeholders at all levels, including executives, while maintaining strategic autonomy and momentum
- Apply AI tools fluently in your design process for exploration, prototyping and research synthesis, while exercising judgment about when to override them
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years designing and shipping impactful digital products at scale, with experience leading design for significant product areas in high-growth, fast-iterating environments
- Expertise across interaction design, visual design, prototyping and design systems—demonstrating ability to turn complex business problems into shipped design visions with measurable results
- Daily working fluency with AI tools for design exploration, prototyping and content synthesis, with proven examples of measurable improvement
- Hands-on experience extracting data and research insights into design decisions; proficiency with user interviews and evaluative testing
- Track record operating as a strategic partner with product, engineering and commercial leaders; strong written, verbal and presentation skills across all audiences
- Strong portfolio of mobile-first work with case studies demonstrating process, strategic framing and measurable impact
