Role overview

Benevity is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join its Global Tax team for a 15-month term covering maternity leave. The company provides technology that enables organizations and their employees to take social action through giving, volunteering, grantmaking, and other initiatives. This role offers high-impact experience within a fast-growing SaaS company and B Corporation.

Key responsibilities

Lead the preparation and execution of Canadian corporate tax filings while serving as the primary authority on tax compliance across Canada, the US, and Europe.
Manage the complete transfer pricing lifecycle, including methodology execution, monthly reporting, and calculations.
Oversee the consolidated tax provision process in accordance with ASC 740 US GAAP and provide high-level advisory to Treasury, Accounting, and Financial Reporting teams.
Execute US sales tax filings using Avalara, coordinate Canadian sales tax filings with the Procure-to-Pay team, and oversee international VAT filings in partnership with external service providers.
Conduct research on complex tax issues to support compliance, reporting, and planning solutions specific to the SaaS environment.
Design and deliver training programs to enhance tax literacy across key business units and act as subject matter expert for internal finance and operations teams.
Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Product teams to integrate tax expertise into business initiatives and drive high-impact tax projects.

Requirements

Professional designation as a CPA or equivalent qualification.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive corporate tax preparation and provisioning experience in a Canadian or multinational setting.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Expert proficiency with modern tax and ERP systems, including Netsuite, CCH iFirm, and Avalara.
Knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP.
Experience in public accounting or with a multinational enterprise.
Familiarity with sales taxes is considered an asset.
